Grass Trees (Xanthorrhoea sp.) are ancient members of the lily family found in Australia. They are very long-lived, slow growing and highly adapted to withstand bushfires. This group was photographed in The Darling Ranges, which lie along the edge of the Great Plateau of Western Australia in the Southwestern Corner of the State.
