Green Anoles (Anolis carolinensis) are sometimes called chameleons because of their ability to change color to match their background or mood. Although they don't posess the ability to adopt as many hues as many chameleons, their colors range from green to brown. Males display by extended red flaps of skin beneath their chins called dewlaps.
