  • Grass Trees (Xanthorrhoea sp.) are ancient members of the lily family found in Australia. They are very long-lived, slow growing and highly adapted to withstand bushfires. This group was photographed in The Darling Ranges, which lie along the  edge of the Great Plateau of Western Australia in the Southwestern Corner of the State.

  • The Gungurru / Silver Princess, Eucalyptus caesia, is a drought tolerant species of eucalpytus which grows well in clay and sandy soils. It is often sold in nurseries.  Native bird species such as the New Holland Honeyeater are attracted to its blossoms.

  • This small ephemeral pool, which was located on top of Wave Rock in Hyden, Western Australia contained frog (or toad) spawn and was surrounded by sundew. It was made during the winter when rain is more common.
